About the Department
Established in the year 1996, The Department of English aims to inculcate skills to accomplish the prerequisites and engage in high-level study through its excellent infrastructure conducive to impart Literature as well as Soft Skills with its noble faculty. The Department has been entrenched with the acquaintance of B.A English Literature in the year 2019 to quench the literary thirst of the students.

To fundamental aim of the department is to enhance the quality of life by offering responsibilities, efficiency and quality education with good communication skills and leadership principles.
Mission
To provide students with an in depth knowledge of English language and Literature.
To sharpen the critical ability of the students to interpret and evaluvate the literary texts.
To instill confidence to cultivate linguistic competency, creativity & literary appreciation
To facilitate the acquisition of communication skills with practical approach.
To impart holistic education giving preference to rural students.
Objectives of the Department
To interpret and critically evaluate texts of various genres, forms, and historical periods
To emphasize the importance of Communication in the Global Scenario.
To impart in-depth knowledge in English Literature and Language studies
To encourage students listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in English.
To enable the students to communicate effectively and appropriately in real life situation.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEO)
The Graduates will
PEO1: Comprehend the world of English Literature in depth and diverse literary works.
PEO2: Acquire a thorough knowledge on the historical, literary and theoretical aspects of English Literature.
PEO3: Develop a flair for English Language and understand the various techniques and patterns employed in various literary works.
Programme Outcomes (PO)
After completion of three years of study, our B.A.English Literature Graduates will be able to:
PO1: Exhibit proficiency in oral and written communication.
PO2: Acquire adequate knowledge over the historical and Cultural backgrounds of English Literature around the world.
PO3: Acquire basic Computer skills such as MS Word, Excel, Power Point Presentation and Internet.
PO4: Acquire additional knowledge in other life supporting disciplines such as floriculture and Food Science.
PO5: Create innovative methodologies and thinking differently to solve any kind of complex problems for the betterment of oneself as well as the society.
PO6: Create innovative methodologies to solve complex problems for the betterment of the society through critical thinking.
PO7: An ability to function effectively and pro actively as a teams, to accomplish a common goal.
PO8: Carrying out the task assigned by the organization with professional ethics and at the same time work for the well being of the society.
PO9: Aware of one's own weaknesses and strengths, emotions and the way to control emotions to maintain good interpersonal relationships.
PO10: Undertake entrepreneurship as a desirable and feasible career option.
PO11: Realizing the responsibilities towards the society and to protect the environment, work towards for providing better living condition to the people.
PO12: Learn continuously for updating knowledge and technologies in the field of Literature and Mass Media.
