Student Induction Programme (SIP)

  1. ● Student Induction Programme is organized for newly admitted students of I UG in the beginning of every academic year.
  2. ● Orientation is provided for the fresher’s of UG on the Vision and Mission of the institution, the academic environment, and availability of infrastructure, the duties and responsibilities of the students including anti-ragging awareness, discipline, code of conduct, and awareness on the use of the library and laboratory resources.
  3. ● A session on the examination and assessment system followed by the college is conducted by the Controller of Examinations.
  4. ● The students are grouped and provided with mentors who will take care of their mental and personal issues throughout the course.
  5. ● Campus walk and a visit to local area is arranged to familiarize the campus and its location

Bridge Course

  1. ● Bridge course is conducted for newly admitted students by the department of English, mathematics, commerce, and computer science for 30 hours to bridge the gap between school and college education.
  2. ● It helps the students to have a smooth transition from school to college.

Remedial courses

  1. ● Remedial courses are conducted for the students who fall short of marks in previous EAE to whom additional contact hours and learning materials are provided.
  2. ● A well-organized tutoring system is in place to provide tutorial classes and individualized learning.

Slow Learners

  1. ● The learning level of students is assessed and is categorized as per the marks secured in Continuous Internal Assessment.
  2. ● Additional coaching is provided to the students, realizing the academic difficulties in learning the programme.
  3. ● Question bank is prepared in each semester where 20 important questions per unit referring to previous years’ question papers are given in each paper for students’ reference.
  4. ● Tutor-ward system is followed that helps the students to overcome difficulties in learning. A tutor advises, encourages and acts as a confidante to the students.

Advanced Learners

  1. ● Advanced Learners are selected according to the academic performance of students in End Assessment Examination.
  2. ● Guest lectures, seminars and conferences are regularly organised to expose advanced learners to additional perspectives on topics pertaining to their courses.
  3. ● Students are encouraged to participate in intra and intercollegiate competitions.
  4. ● Training programmes are organized to help students take up various professional examinations like Civil Services, Banking Services, CA(Chartered Accountant), CMA(Cost Accountant),ACS(Company Secretary), Lectureship Eligibility Tests, etc..
  5. ● Career-oriented programmes are organized for interested UG and PG students after class hours.
  6. ● Teacher-student Collaborative Research Publications and Research Projects are encouraged to promote research aspirations in students.
  7. ● Extracurricular Activity is encouraged which includes paper presentations, attending seminars/conferences or Publications in journals.

Extra Credit Courses

  1. ● Extra Credit Courses are opted by advanced learners to obtain extra credits in their programme. It gives students the opportunity to earn additional credits towards their course grade.
  2. ● Additional coaching is provided to the students, realizing the academic difficulties in learning the programme.
  3. ● College offers 50 extra credit courses to all UG and PG students which are Multi disciplinary /inter disciplinary

Self Study Courses

Self Study Courses enhance the learning capability of the students through self-learning. It is a learning method where students direct their own studying outside the classroom and without direct supervision. Since students are able to take control of what they are learning, it can be valuable for many students to learn by their own.

Online courses

Online courses are a part of curriculum that paves a way for the students to acquire knowledge and certificate, apart from the academic based learning through online platforms like Swayam, NPTEL, Udemy, Course Era and spoken tutorial etc. Students are encouraged to enroll in NPTEL, SWAYAM and MOOC online courses.

Language Skills

Language skills are developed through many activities such as role-play, story-telling, and conversation practice that benefit the students from rural areas to gain confidence and initiate conversation in English. Spoken English classes are conducted to all first year UG students by the department of English. Language Lab has been setup for practicing and improving the English Communication skill.

Field Visits/Internship/Projects

    Field Visits are arranged for the first year students to the Industries once in the semester. Second year students are given Internships for 15 days and Third year students are given individual student projects. Internship and Projects are included in the curriculum in which they have should submit the report and viva voce examination.

Experiential learning

    Students learn through direct experience and focused reflection in order to enhance their awareness and skills. The curriculum includes the Nesathodu Vasippom/ Spoken English classes, Group Discussion/Mock Interviews, Internships, Workshops, Classroom activities, Classroom activities / Practical Work

Participatory Learning

    Students are actively involved in the learning process in which sequential activities or learning events help them to achieve an objective or outcome. The institution encourages the students to take up the Quiz, Paper Presentations/Publications, Model presentations/ Exhibitions/ New Product Development, Market Mela, Talker's Club activities under participatory learning.

Problem solving methodologies

    The problem-solving process involve defining the problem, generating alternative solutions, evaluation, selecting an alternative, implementation and following up on the solution helps the students to solve a problem. The PI Club, Programmers Club, Case Studies, Web Developer Club and Science club assist the students to increase their problem solving capability.
